Night Falling draws from the long tradition of the 19th century nocturne, and while the music also includes contemporary electronic influences, the nocturne's original sensibility remains intact; one in which the night evokes a particular feeling and atmosphere -- expressive and dreamlike, less concerned with precise detail, and more concerned with embracing the romantic spirit. Though seemingly tranquil, these pieces also quietly envelope the listener with an underlying feeling of unease; the sense there is a veiled window to darker regions of the self. It may be that the act of composing music embodies many of these fundamental concepts -- there is an intuitive leap of faith into the unknown, and a trust that the process be guided by both the individual and the collective mind.
